Prefix: /quad
Long description:
Helpful utility to split up your monome into sections in order to run separate applications concurrently on different sections of the keypad. designed for the monome 256 but will work on the 128 as well.
Download: quadrants 0.51
Instructions:
Open MonomeSerial and change the Host Port and Listen Port to 8010 and 8090 respectively. Next, open Quadrants and select the split pattern that you'd like from the graphics at the top of the patch. Open the patches you wish to assign then change the corresponding prefixes on the list to the left.
Remember to change your ports back to 8000 and 8080 when you are not using Quadrants so that your monome responds correctly to it's regular patches.
Troubleshooting:
While it's certainly not impossible that there are some fairly large bugs in Quadrants, the most common problem that button presses work, but no LEDs are lit on the monome device. The order in which all the component parts are opened is of utmost importance. Quadrants needs to bind to port 8080, in order to intercept /led messages. If Quadrants is opened before the ports have been changed in MonomeSerial, it will not be bound. To be safe, start by quitting any open monome-related apps. Then follow the instructions above.
If you are still experiencing problems, check for errors in the Max message window and head on over to this forum thread.
